GET TO KNOW THE SOAP!

Specific oils and botanicals are used in certain soap items.
Read the reasons why I have specifically handpicked them for you.

ESSENTIAL OILS I use

  • Almond: reduced puffiness, treats dry skin, improves complexion and skin tone, helps reverse sun damage, reduces appearance of scars.

  • Apple: promotes overall skin appearance, enhances collagen, blocks UV rays and anti-aging. 

  • Bay leaf: heals wounds, scars, bruises, cuts and minor skin allergies. Antibacterial, anti fungal and antiseptic. 

  • Cedarwood: anti-inflammatory, anti fungal, antibacterial, treats irritated skin (acne and eczema).

  • Clary Sage: the oil contains Linalyl Acetate- a compound known to reduce skin inflammation and heal the skin.

  • Coconut: reduces inflammation, keeps skin moisturized, helps heal wounds.

  • Eucalyptus: may help strengthen natural skin moisture barrier. 

  • Frankincense: calms complexion, restores the skin and calms irritated or damaged skin. 

  • Hyssop: Antimicrobial, Anti-inflammatory.

  • Lavender: Anti-inflammatory, anti fungal antimicrobial, detoxifying, reduces redness, soothes and calms skin, rapidly heals minor cuts and scrapes. 

  • Lemongrass: treats oily skin, fights Acne, purifies skin, Anti-oxidants, promotes good night sleep.

  • Rosemary: Fights Acne, tightens skin tone, smooths out fine lines, natural deodorizer, reduces inflammation, helps get rid of cellulite. 

  • Sweet Orange: reduces dark spots and blemishes (Vit. C), helps prevent premature skin aging, Antibacterial, promotes collagen and cell growth, shrinks large pore and firms skin as an astringent.

  • Vanilla: Prevents signs of aging, treats Acne, treats dry skin, helps sooth sunburnt skin.

  • Ylang Ylang: Derived from a South Asian flower- helps balance and regulate oil production in the skin, has anti fungal properties to help clear acne, heals wounds, Antimicrobial, helps lower anxiety and depression.​

BOTANICALS I use​

  • Alfalfa: rich in Antioxidants, staves off premature signs of again, aid in easing redness and irritation.

  • Blue Cornflower: Calms and reduces red patches on sensitive skin, freshens and soothes. Rich in antioxidants, cools and tones helping firm crepey skin.

  • Cinnamon: rich in Anti-oxidants, treats hyperpigmentation and acne, lightens skin and decreases signs of aging.

  • Calendula: has antifungal, anti-inflammatory properties. Useful in healing wounds, soothes eczema, promotes hydrate skin barrier. Helps skin cells to regenerate.

  • Dandelion: nutrients in the flower can improve skin condition against the sun, reduce inflammation and helps new skin cell growth.

  • Jasmine buds: Antiseptic, Anti-bacterial, Anti- fungal and Anti-Viral

  • Lavender buds: antibacterial properties, helps clean pores. Anti-inflammatory. calms skin and reduces swelling.

  • Lemon Verbena: relaxing, heals and tones skin. reduces acne and puffiness. Assists in removal of dirt, pollutants and excess oil.

  • Mugwort: targets dry irritated skin. Soothes- Good for psoriasis and eczema. (Note: if you are allergic to RAGWEED- DO NOT USE. Mugwort is part of the Ragweed family). 

  • Nettle: natural astringent, tightens and firms skin, regulates natural oil production, treats Acne, promotes flawless skin. Accelerates healing process of wounds and burns, and helps with skin allergies and eczema.

  • Rose buds/ petals: natural oils in roses help retain moisture in the skin. Sugars in rose petals benefit those with sensitive skin. Rich in Vit C- makes skin glow.

Other ingredients used for their skin benefits that I use

  • Almonds: natural exfoliant, helps prevent skin dryness. 

  • Apricot seed: rich source of essential fatty acid- benefits of moisturizing.

  • Brown Sugar: natural exfoliant, helps moisturize and even skin tone.

  • Coffee grounds: Clears dead skin cells and unclogs pores.

  • Charcoal: deep cleans pores and tightens skin.

  • Oatmeal: produces collagen production, reduces inflammation,  improves complexion.

Soap Bases I use

  • Glycerin: hydrates the outer layer of the skin, improves skin barrier function, accelerates wound healing, relieves dry skin.

  • Goat's Milk: gentle cleanser, rich in nutrients, natural exfoliant, may improve dry skin and prevent Acne.

  • Olive Oil: skin moisturizer, naturally anti-aging, gentle make-up remover

  • Shea Butter: moisturizes without clogging pores, natural protection fro UV radiation, gradually fades scarring, soothes burns.

Carrier Oils I might use

  • Argon: great source of Vitamin E, heals skin and helps regenerate skin.

  • Castor: Anti-bacterial, Anti-fungal, Anti-inflammatory. 

  • Coconut: Anti-bacterial, Anti-fungal, Anti-Infammatory, and Anti-viral.

  • Grapeseed: Light oil, high in Vit E, minerals , proteins. Anti-oxidant. Makes skin soft, strengthens and fortifies.

  • Jojoba: good moisturizer, does not clog pores.

  • Sweet Almond: non-greasy, good for young children, contains Vit. B1, B2, B6 and E.
